Solemnity of Christ the King
2 min read

The celebration of Christ the King was instituted in 1925 by Pope Pius XI to reaffirm the spiritual sovereignty of Christ in a world that was increasingly drifting away from God and religious values. The feast stands as a reminder that Christ remains the true ruler of every human heart, every nation, and all creation

.
Today, the Seminary Family, together with the Queen of the Apostles Parish, joined millions of Catholics across the world to celebrate this great solemnity with deep devotion and joy. The liturgy was prayerfully anchored by Rev. Fr. Robinson Amadi, assisted by many other priests who graced the celebration with their presence and participation.
During his homily, Fr. Amadi reflected on the dangers of allowing “another king” to take the place of Christ in our lives. He warned the faithful against seeking false freedom outside the authority of the true King—Jesus Christ, the Master of the Universe. He emphasized that any freedom we pursue apart from Christ ultimately leads to regret, emptiness, and spiritual bondage. To illustrate this, he narrated the story of a young man who rejected God’s guidance in search of what he believed was freedom, only to realize too late that he had walked into a life of sorrow and disappointment.
The homilist encouraged everyone to submit their hearts, decisions, ambitions, and daily struggles to Christ, reminding us that true freedom is found only in surrendering to the kingship of Jesus. He invited the community to let Christ reign over their families, studies, work, and choices, so that His light may guide every step they take

.
At the end of the Mass, the entire parish and seminary community processed outside joyfully to publicly proclaim the Kingship of Christ. With hymns, prayers, and heartfelt devotion, they bore witness to the world that Christ is our King today, tomorrow, and forever.
