Holy Thursday, also known as Maundy Thursday, marks a pivotal moment in the Christian liturgical calendar—the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His apostles. This sacred day celebrates the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood, reflecting Christ’s commandment of love and service.
At St. Bernard Seminary Hostel,on the 17th of April 2025, Holy Thursday celebration was a deeply reverent occasion. The chief celebrant was Rev. Fr. Lazarus Alor, the Vice Rector of the seminary, with Rev. Fr. Dr. Liberatus Isife the Rector of the seminary and Rev. Fr. Msgr. Theophilus Anyanwu serving as co-celebrants. Their leadership and prayerful presence guided the seminarians and faithful in reflecting on the profound mystery of Christ’s self-giving love. The ceremony included the symbolic washing of feet, recalling Jesus’ humble act of service to His disciples, and the solemn celebration of the Eucharist, highlighting the enduring presence of Christ in the sacrament. Holy Thursday reminds all Christians of the call to live lives of humility, charity, and sacrificial love.
